Pistol Pete Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 The Essex Area appears to be a ickle flat at the moment , I know the offical meet is next weekend but I'm looking after my boys (and nobody tuned turn up last time I went). Anyway, if anyone wants to join me this Sunday I will be leaving from the Lodge (SWF) @ 10am and taking a blat through the following: Hanningfields (East, West * South) Stock Ingatestone Galleywood Danbury I don't know how far it is but guessing it will take about an hour. Trying to find a coffee shop to stop at on route if anybody knows of any in the area. Anybody wish to join me? Pete I know this should go in event area, but isn't that like the the XI area - where threads go to die Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Drat, first Essex blat in ages and I wont be able to make it If only I could find away to sneek away from the drunken partygoers that will be camping in my garden. Oh well, another time Quote
Pistol Pete Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Shame, I keep reading about the other b*******s having fun in WW and thought we should be a little more active. Not been on one before, let alone tried to arrange one - If it goes well I may well arrange a couple more. Pete Quote
cosmick Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 If you are looking for somewhere to go in Essex this Sunday, you could drive to North Weald and watch a few 7's go up the strip. it is a Run What Yer Brung meeting so anyone can enter. £30.00 but you need to be there early if you want to run. Limited entry numbers. I will be there from about 8.00 onwards. Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Well I'm up for some in the future, and the car should still be taxed for another 1-2months yet. Quote

cosmick Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Bum, just up the road from me and would be up for that if my diff wasnt busted! Serves you right for having too much power. We met at Stoneleigh I believe. and we spoke about Duncan C and his car. You had a lucky escape with your fire. Get your diff fixed. cosmick Quote
Flat Eric Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Can't make it this weekend, but up for it in future. Quote
BEN99W Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 There's a coffee shop at eves corner in danbury, or any of the numerous pubs you'll pass will serve a coffee... I'll try to get along for the blat, but as I'm on late shifts it may be a bit early for me. Ben Quote
Tigger Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Pistol, great idea but I can't make it either ... got a bust clutch .... probably not the best timing this weekend but would be up for something in the future. Quote
Pistol Pete Posted September 2, 2010 Author Posted September 2, 2010 Ok so first lesson is I need to give more notice (knew that already ). The good news is that we have enough people interested , I'll use Sunday as a dry run and make a note of time/milage. Re Coffee stops, thought about the pubs but not sure which ones are open before noon. Danbury sounds good, parking may be an issue depending on numbers. Quote

You can do a recce to see where's best to drive and take notes but preferably when your stopped not whilst driving Quote

Unless you are well into double figures, I don't think parking at eves corner will be a problem on a Sunday morning. Quote
