Gebbly Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 This may sound like a bit of a strange question but... My brother has built a Westfield SEi and its his pride and joy. I am trying to find some sort of model of the car that he could leave on his desk at work. I have had no luck finding any sort of Westfield model. Whether it is a little diecast thing or a kit to be built. I've tried toy stores, model shops, westfield sites etc. Does anyone know *anywhere* that I could find a little westfield? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote
Blatman Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Pretty sure there isn't a scale model of the Westfield available, and if there is, I've never seen one. Closest you'll get is a die cast scale model c******m............ I would have though that if any have been made, then the factory will know about them. Try ringing them on 01384 400077...... Quote
Gebbly Posted January 20, 2003 Author Posted January 20, 2003 Thanks for the tip. Didnt think to try the factory. Saw the C******m model but wouldnt dare present that to my brother. Might walk away with it stuck in my ear Just phoned the factory. They dont know of anyone that produces a scale copy of the car. The lady on the phone did say, however, that they get asked about scale models *all the time*!? Sounds like theres a market there to me. Any enterprising young artists out there fancy taking there hand to a scale model? Quote
neilwillis Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Have a peek at the posting entitled any budding RC modellers. Apparently, a German firm market a Westie model, though it may be a little big for a desk. Quote
Blatman Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Fair enough. If it's for his desk at work, only he'll know, though.......... All the folk who wander in and say "What's that", probably wouldn't be able to tell a c******m from a Westfield anyway......... If getting it stuck in your ear is a real possibilty, get the smallest model you can find (less pain) or the biggest model you can find (less chance of actually getting it in your ear in the first place).............. Gebbly Posted January 20, 2003 Author Posted January 20, 2003 Using the other postings mention of RC cars I tried that tack. All I have come across so far is this from Tamiya : http://www.discounttrainsonline.com/Tamiya-....65.html Which shouldnt be too difficult to remodel for any experts out there. Although it is rather large and the price is a bit outrageous! Quote
AndyM Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Tamiya do 1/32 scale plastic lotus 7 kit (got one for Christmas ) I'll try and look up the kit No. when I get home and post it tomorrow Quote
Gebbly Posted January 20, 2003 Author Posted January 20, 2003 Thanks Andy, that sounds more like it. Should be more within my budget too Quote
Blatman Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Er, it'll be exactly the same looking as a c******m model kit.........more ear jewellery me thinks........ Quote
neo Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 actually there is a couple of small c******m models about, i company that does 1/18 scale ones and 1/32 of the same car in silver and red, or full race spec in yellow, if i remember right it was something like Kiasho or something but they had them on the model stand at the motorsport show at the NEC last week, scalextric also do a c******m as well, Quote

russbif Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 ISTR that there has been a thread on Blatchat recently concerning scale models made by one of their lot, pics look very good indeed, perhaps he could be persuaded to make one for your brother?? Would probably cost an arm and a leg tho' would have to be expensive to appeal to c******m owners...... Russ Quote
AndyM Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 As promised (sorry for the delay) Tamiya Lotus Super 7 Series II 1/24 Sports car series No.46 item 24046.1200 Hope this helps Quote
CateringVan Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Thats a lovely little model, I made one a few years ago and the detailing is very good. Be aware though that it has only bears a passing resemblance to a Westfield (unless you have a pre-lit model) Quote
Bananaman Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Hows this looks small enough to get stuck in your ear. Quote
