Asterix Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Will cross post this. Car in garage having other bits done, inside of front tyres too worn, need replacing. Garage has quoted an amount, I want to beat it. Does anyone know the standard tyre size? "Yes, mother, I should've checked" Quote
SteveD Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 225,45,17 i tink wuv early early ones were 205 ,55,16 Quote
Asterix Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 Ta wuv, am appreciating the instant response ...will google shop...next question is does anyone have a recommend for good tyres (it's currently shod with Michelin Pilots and I don't want to go less grippy) or a recommend for a good (read "cheap") tyre shop? Mine's the 225, definitely rings a big bell. Quote
SteveD Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 michlins are a good wearing tyre allways have been ,depends weather you want sticky rubber Quote
Stuart Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Just been looking for same size for memsahib's Civic. Blackcircles got Kumho KH31 fully fitted for £71.63 each thought that was a good deal. Quote
blue_toaster Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I put Nexen N6000's on my Leon last time and have regretted it ever since. I'm going for Uniroyal rainsports next, which I've used before and really like. Quote
Asterix Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 ...is there an independant tyre review site on the web? Found this but am not sure how objective it is. Quote
Pistol Pete Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 BF Goodridge are michelin's by another name and a good deal cheaper, they grip and wear well and don't appear to suffer the cracking at the edges that some michelin do. Quote
