Glen_I Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I am ready to buy exhaust manifold and silencer,(running a VX20) I seem to get the feeling that i should stay well clear of westfields, is this right? spoke to Wunoff who quoted me £1200+vat! Awaiting reply from SBD.... Can anyone recommend anyone else and what would seem a fair price for complete system? I know you get what you pay for and i am sure the Wunoff system is the dogs danglies, it just seemed a little steep? Glen. Quote
chazpowerslide Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 IRRC the SBD exhaust is about £800 for the full system in stainless. They do a carbon can but it needs to be sleeved if you are running carbs as backfires destroy the carbon only one. It's SVA compliant if you get the rolled ends. Quote
Nick M Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Has the Wunoff one been developed after many hours spent on the dyno....?? The SBD one certainly has and I know people who've used it and been very impressed. Others to have a look at would be Tony Law and Hayward and Scott. But the SBD one is probably the most hassle free one as it's been designed to fit a Westfield so you won't need to send the car off to have a custom manifold made. Quote
altval Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 Hi Glen. I have a Westfield system and in the immortal words of the rolling road lads, it's crap.I think most of the problems are the design of the collector box. Also, I only just managed to get it through the SVA test [1 decible]. Quote
Glen_I Posted January 27, 2003 Author Posted January 27, 2003 I wont me wasting my time with the westfield one then!!!!!!! Got quote from SBD today £346+vat for manifold and £356+vat for silencer thats a bit better then wunoff one? Glen. Quote
westy Posted January 27, 2003 Posted January 27, 2003 don't be frightened to haggle with SBD they/he doesn't seem to mind when your dealing just with parts.... the SBD manifold/exhaust is the same one if you run the 208 kit (bottle of the line for TB) or even the 252 bhp kit - that speaks for itself... Cheers, Westy. Quote
