o/t - Flat panel tv sought

Recommended Posts

Am looking for 2 flat panel TV's to mount on walls inside my house.

Priorities are less than £300 per unit, a widescreen recognised make that won't break just after warranty expires*, is wall mountable, 1 HDMI socket at least, headphone socket and as large a screen size as possible.

Would like decent sound and an ethernet connection if possible (though I recognise that the suggestion below doesn't match that latter criteria).

Have always favoured Sony but am open to other makes.

Can you beat Samsung 32"?

Are you in the trade? Do you know when 34" will break below £300.

Any other (serious  ;) ) suggestions?

*Yes, I know, they all do that  ;)

Keep an eye on refresh rates, most of the cheaper ones are only 50hz 100 will give you a smoother picture flow on movies and sports.

My guess is with LED widely on the market and 3D getting bigger the 'old type' must be near their lowest prices.

I just wish I could be happy with a standard unit rather than wanting the lates greatest, it can get very expensive quick.

We have 2 LG's in kitchen and study, very pleased.  Much the same criteria as you are looking for.

I have the 2 off of the model before the Samsung linked to and I'm very pleased with them. One is a 32" one is a 24", both *much* better than the CRT's that they replaced, and both better than even the "late model" CRT that my parents have.

I buy most of my electricals from EBuyer, who are often not beaten on price. www.ebuyer.com

Ta blats, [Frank Bruno] know what you mean [/Frank Bruno].

Though closest I can get out of ebuyer at the mo is this, where the tv/dvd combo's, though currently right size, are little known makes and the LG tv shown is only 27"*.

*"Only 27""...how times have changed  ;)
