Bog Seat Hinges

Recommended Posts

Posted

Completely O/T I know, but has anybody got a source of good bog seats and / or hinges ? Every time I buy a bog seat, fix it onto bog, within 2/3 months,  the fixing post is loose and you then slide all over when in the sitting position.

Obviously, I don't sit that often (I did say SIT), being a bloke, other than to have a mournful pee whilst drinkin a can occasionally and the missues a**, whilst slightly rotund is not that lardy, so I cant really put it down to unreasonable average use

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated

(I have also suggested that she buys a shewee and then wouldn't have to sit that often, but that didn't go down too well  ??? )

yeah the soft close ones are well sturdy. Got one from wickes 5 years ago and it's still going strong!

Mrs C and I had this very conversation this morning. The soft close ones do seem to have much less play in them, one of our toilets has one and it's still holding up as well as it did when I fitted it two years ago.

Mrs C bought a new one (not soft close) a few weeks ago and it has started falling apart allready, I had it apart and back together with some loctite 243 this morning.

Time will tell how effective this will be.
