neilb Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Does anyone know were you can still get hold of small number plates for the front of my westy. All the places that I have tried only do the Tony approved ones and need ID and proof of entitlement and upto £20 each Thanks Neil Quote
Graham.J Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Gtgrafix Do them in a minimum of 7cm tall and 20cm wide. HTH Quote
neilb Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Cheers I will give them a call Neil Quote
Mark Stanton Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Be very careful Small number plates (bike size plates) can be purchased for cars as "show plates" not for road use. It is possible to be stopped by Plod on the public highway for having improper sized number plates and an MOT failure In saying that, I use small plates Its your decision Quote
peterg Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 you could always carry a fullsize one and say you forgot to change it back after the 'show' Quote
BobM Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 I got mine from Fancy Plates who will do whatever size you want. I got a standard rear acrylic plate and a stick on vinyl one 14" wide for the front. Quote
Graham.J Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Apparently the size I ordered is road legal if I get stopped then it's only £30 and I'll sort out another plate, if I don't, then I wont worry. It's not as if it's going to be on the road, I'm the only one who can drive it (short legged parents and odd seating position) and unless I can get cover notes for single days occasionally then it's not going on the road this year. neilb Posted January 22, 2003 Author Posted January 22, 2003 I have managed to get a smaller plate sorted - a friend of a friend knows a man that owns a motor factors and he did me one in a smaller font size and let me trim it my self. Got a pair of full size ones to keep the law happy. On the subjet of the police - saw two cars changing the camera in a speed trap today - both parked on double yellow lines near a school, now that should be bookable! Neil Quote
