POC Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Evening guys, Im gonna spend some money on my already expensive ZEi220. Im looking for the cheapest place to get a set of 7\22x15 front and 8\22x15 rear AVON ACB10's....? and.... A decent rollbar to replace the standard factory chrome rollhoop bendy thingy....? and... Where local to me can i get the geometry checked and setup....? (Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire) Engine wise im sweet for now, but a custom exhaust system will be fabricated to make things a little louder (and to free up a few more bhp - cos lets face it, i need it) ......oh and the wheels are being painted matt black Any pointers to decent no-nonsense suppliers would be fantastic. TIA Paul Quote
Blatman Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Tyres direct from Avon. Ask for the c******m "deal" (Thanks to Al Yupright ) RAC bar from the Factory. Get one with removable stays. It's a no brainer..... Look at powdercoating the wheels, rather than painting. Cheaper, and probabaly more durable. Exhausts from Wunoff, Tony Law, or you may want to try a company called BTB, in Basildon. Quote
Nick M Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 BTB are, I think, up Derby way. Haywood and Scott are in Basildon and specialise in stainles steel. Very good, but not cheap and don't expect it in two days !! Quote
AndyC_772 Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Still got the Westy then POC? That must be some sort of a record. How long is it now? For suspension and geometry setup, I've heard good things said about Arrowstar Racing in Bicester: 01869 250270. My own car will be going there for the same thing in a couple of weeks' time just as soon as I've got the tyres sorted. A. Quote

POC Posted January 20, 2003 Author Posted January 20, 2003 Cheers blatters me old son Any idea on prices of this stuff? How much did you pay for powder coating? I have the custom exhaust covered with a local company, still not sure on where to get the geometry setup. Morning Andy, yup still got it! I dont get to use it as often as I used the other cars so bordom has not yet set in. Had the little beastie out on Saturday morning, tis definatley a very entertaining car, esp when you bring it on boost in the damp Quote
Blatman Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Prices depend on how much work is involved (sorry, I realise that's obvious) but I have no experience of rear exit exhausts on turbo engined Westfields............. My local powder coaters (in West London) I found in Yellow Pages, and wandered in (like you do). I was offered powder coating at around 20 quid a wheel, and that included shot blasting. However, that does sound quite cheap to me.................Give the chaps at Cat Motorsport a bell/e-mail. I'm sure Andy or Steve will be able to help. Quote
