Sparko Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Just thought I would post a note to anyone considering doing what I have done ie take a standard Westfield and convert to Aeroscreen, Cage, proper harnesses etc Sourced cage from BMS engineering, and work done to weld was done through Custom Fabrications at Brackley. Not the cheapest but pure quality - tube was actually fitted and welded around the car - perfect seem welds. Customer care superb - highly recommended - particularly the ex-Prodrive welders at Custom Fabrications It is reassuring to know a cage will be there when you need it and you can't beat having it made and fitted to spec. Guest Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 and it comes with MSA/FIA certificate ? Like the Caged cage does which has the most awesome welding in T45 , so both light , cad designed for structural strength , and MSA/FIA approved not knocking your cage but you said yourself it wasn't cheap , i'd want to know it had been designed to work will protecting the driver and chassis . Major Stare Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Surely any cage is better than a standard Westfield item, even if its not FIA/MSA certified? Not everyone with a cage participates in motorsport and just wants the added security? Quote
