Norman Verona Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 I think it was th Coypu who pilled the plug out. It's missing so they must have hidden it. Whilst we've had no rain for months we don't want your thanks. It might rain in the next 15 minutes as its gone very dark and cloudy. But it'll only make the ground damp, nothing more. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 While its dry might be worth looking at a liner or new puddle clay in readiness for autumn rain it'll keep you out of mischief Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 Mark, I think I've got enough to do! About another 20 tone of stone to dig out and move, firts fix wiring, plumbing pipes to run, sand bla..... you get the idea. You may like to see this sequence photographed yesterday. It's at the bottom of the page dated 4th August: duck comedy Quote
Mark19800_0 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Norm, I will have to send you up some rain because its been raining here all week. The brochure said the weather would be better than the UK, but now i'm beginning to doubt the fact Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Mark, the forecast keeps predicting rain but it just doesn't materialize. It was supposed to rain today but it's clear skies and sunny. Went to the fairy show last night. They've excelled themselves - brilliant show. click here for the fairies No web site or litrature can do justice to this show. It's truly spectacular. Each year they make slight changes. last year I thought the time spent on fireworks was too much, it was becoming a firework display only. This year the balance was redressed and with a few changes I can only describe it "Brilliant Spectacle" We had a friend here who hasn't been before. Before the show a Bretagne all male singing group were on. Derek thought they were rubbish and wanted to know when they were going to sing the same song. He was a bit put off by what we'd dragged him to. He was amazed by what followed. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Summer is just tres magnifique isn't it they have a similar show and firework display at the end of the display at abbaye de bon repos which traces Brittany history from neolithic times to Napoleonic days Norman - do you also have all the music festivals over your way ?? start mid June and carry on through to September - loads of different stuff - Rock, blues, jazz, celtic and trad - something most weekends Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Yes we do. We're only 5 miles from Bretagne. We are at the junction of Dept 44. 53, 35 and we're in 49. We've been to Angers Chateau today. The tapestry there is just out of this world. Takes over 1/2 an hour to follow the recorded explanation of it. It the largest in the world (before anyone starts telling me , the Bayeaux is the largest SINGLE tapestry), Angers is one story made up of about 50 tapestries. I'm sure it'll have a web site, I'll have a look. In the meantime they hold outdoor cinema in the late summer starting at 220 and there's a jazz festival in October. Our local town, Segre have a jazz festival later this month. We also have lots of horse race meeting in the area. ed to ad a link: linky link Quote
