skid Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 Need to replace the 2.5 inch belts with 3 inch can anyone tell me which model to order so they bolt straight on to the fixings behind the seats, not clip on with an eye bolt? Quote
scott beeland Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 Ring willans directly (number on website). I did this; discussed what I needed (3" 6 point harness, turn buckle release, short straps and correct size bolt on shoulder straps. They made @em and weren't mega money. Was a club six (with necessary factory mods if that helps) Quote
JimNoble Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Take a look at www.europaspares.com You'll be wanting a pair of "WC6TW33BK" or "WC6VW33BK" (for black belts). Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying them from Europa though. When I bought mine, the first sent entirely the wrong sort. Then when I asked for one harness with the buckle on the right (for the passenger side), I ended up with both buckles on the left. They also took a very long time to supply them. Merlin Motorsport will also supply them... Jim Quote
JimNoble Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Of course I'm assuming you want eye bolts on the shoulder straps and normal bolts on the others! Jim Quote
JimNoble Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Me again Where do people bolt the 5th and 6th belts to? I figured you either need to use the same mounting as the lap belts, or use the bolts that go through the floor at the front of the runner mechanism... What's the preferred method? Jim Quote
Blatman Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Run 'em back to the rear mounts. In a heavy impact, they'd break the seat/rip out the floor if they were mounted to the seat runners........ Quote
Westfieldman Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Motordrive [Alan] can do TRS made to measure at a good price. Paul. 5 point one in my car. Quote
Nick M Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Scott has it right - that's (more or less) what I have in my car, except I went for the tarty aluminium adjusters rather than the steel ones. Willans have the measurements for Westfields which some of the others may not. I just faxed Willans the spec I wanted and they called me back with a price. All pretty easy. Quote
