Tigger Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 On my way back from Llandow Saturday and I heard a funny noise Found out that the jockey wheel wasn't locked and it wound down over a space of around 140 miles. Below is the result of my little mishap! so be warned, check your jockey is properly secured Not sure how much this will cost, will find out tomorrow!! Quote

stephenh Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Oh b****r! Didn't you feel or hear it? Mine has dropped several times, but I'ver always heard and felt something wrong, but it has been on country roads at low speeds, not on the motorway or trunk roads. BTW, any sign of the Llandow results yet? Quote

carpetstu Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Had exactly the same when I had a caravan. Think it was about £10 for a new wheel at the local caravan spares. Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Been there done that with my Caravan, shredded the inflatable jockey wheel, arrived on site and had a b****r of a job getting the van lined up with no useable jockey wheel Allways double.....no triple check nowadays Quote
leighc Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 yep also done that - i left the trailer handbrake on too, wondered what the foul smell was, it was my clutch Quote
Terry Everall Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I add a rope and tie mine up Two years ago I travelled from York to Llandow and only 1 mile from circuit did the jockey wheel come loose!!!!!!!!!! Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 That looks repairable. The tyre could be put back on the rim and the jobs a goodun Quote
