KerryS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 £9500 Situated in Derby The car was bought as a complete kit in September 2004 as one of Westfield's "Summer Madness" offers. I built it over the winter to a high standard and it passed its SVA first time in May 2005. It has now done just over 7500 miles. The car's basic specification is: 1.8 Ford Zetec (silvertop) MT75 gearbox Sierra diff In addition to the basic kit the car was built with the chrome package, contoured dash, boot box lid and rear wheel arch protectors. Fixed four-point seat belts were used instead of the inertia reel type. Since SVA changes have been made: The Ford injection system has been replaced by twin Jenvey throtle bodies and was set up on Northampton Motor Sport's dyno to 150 bhp After the usual Zetec thermostat housing breakage, a Raceline water-rail has been fitted. Lowline sump - the cast type sold by Westfield to gain some ground clearance. Re-packable silencer with bespoke heat shield with "Westfield" laser cut into it [The original silencer with cat will be sold with the car and is generally needed at MOT time] The original Westfield tonneau was sold and replaced by a bespoke one made by Graham Dean in Ilkeston, north of Derby. Twin air-horns instead of the OE fit horn. Cam belt replaced as a precaution. There is no hood but there are side screens and also the perspex wind deflectors. These both engage in the same mounts on the screen pillars. I have just completed a 2000+ mile trip round France and the car behaved very well with just a water pipe coming adrift on an Alpine descent. This was fixed back on and the water topped up with no ill effects. I have enjoyed making the car and driving something I have created but time has come to move on to a more practical "toy" car.
