Carb fitting ans ecu advice...

Recommended Posts

Brought my Weber 45's new and i have no fitting instructions. Does anyone know where i can get them online? or is it so simple that a few lines here would suffice. I have a fitting kit (o rings, rubber moulded washer things, bolts etc).

Also, considering getting the Omex ecu for ignition. Anything i should know??

Thanks,

QL. :xmas:

Essentially fittng the carbs isnt a big problem. I should imagine you can work most of it out....

Couple of things to bear in mind. Dont bolt the carbs up tight. There should be a fitting kit with the carbs (hopefully...) which comprise of some o ring type gaskets and some rubber bobbins with 'cups' for them to sit into. There is a slightly different setup available as well, use the search facility to find out which type you have and how to set them up correctly. This is important, because the carbs should have a little bit of movement in them when bolted up correctly, the theory is that it prevents the fuel in the float chambers frothing from engine vibration.

Also try a search on the Omex management. I have no personal experience with them myself, but there seems to be nothing but good words wrote about them on this boardroom.

I've just fitted a new DTA ECU via Paul at Plays-Kool Motorsport Ltd 01274 680100 he'll set it up and install it at very resonable cost

Not heard of Omex before their prices look expensive. DTA have been around a good few years and deal with a lot of the top Motorsport Teams

worth a try

not sure about the prices, but when i looked around last year, Omex where one of the cheapest, the other being Emerald.

Have a chat with Omex at the autosport show, they had a top deal at the 2002 show. Would be very suprised if they were more expensive than DTA, but always happy to be proved wrong :)
