Tubs Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Having had an old SLK it was very GT but the new car was much sportier, and the 350 seemed better balanced than the 55. The acceleration on the 55 however, is mind blowing, not for the lower speeds because a good Westy would blow it off the track but at the higher speeds, it just keeps on pulling. Having said that I went for a Boxster S 3.2 as it is much more fun to drive and whilst I've always thought they sound like cr*p, they actually sund good from within the car. As for speed, the new 3.4 will get to sixty in 4.8 despite the fact that Porsche only claim 5.4. Tubs Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Stew - how on earth will you cope with it when a Smart car is too much for you to handle? Quote
Jumpy07 Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I have an SLK 350.. AMG spec.. to be honest the handling is crap even with the AMG suspension... I much prefered my old Boxster S.. cant wait till I get rid of the Merc.. In its defence... its pretty quick in a straight line.. and would have left the Boxster S.... the Boxster would rund rings round it on the twisty bits You cant beat the roof though... especially if you cant garage it... thats why I bought the SLK..
