Bananaman Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I have a friend who's son (21) wants a trackday experience, i was thinking Oulton Park but have noticed they do some at 3 Sisters too. No i like the 3 sisters but think it's a bit too small to really enjoy the experience to the full? also noticed they do some at Elvington, anybody had experience of any of these? I did one at Oulton 10 years ago and that's what got me into the EWestfield so am a bit bias towards there, that and it's a great track!!! Seen this, it's a bit pricy but some nice cars and 6 laps in each http://www.trackdays.co.uk/driving....100 Quote
stewart pickles Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 not much to hit at elvington but they are strict on noise now and its a very abrasive surface so wrecks tyres Quote

Mark Stanton Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Oulton would surely give the best trackday experience of those you mention Elvington is just an old airfield, 3 Slappers is too small (IHO) altho great for karts Cadwell and Oulton have gotta be the two best tracks ooop North Quote
SteveH Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I instruct on the race school at Oulton. We use the new V8 M3s with the 7 speed DSG box and he can also have a go in single seaters. Round about 15 mins in each car which is well up with or above the average for this kind of event. We run on the Fosters circuit so not too many corners to learn; in terms of driving a great car on a proper circuit with some top class instructors , I'd say it's hard to beat. Personally I love Three Sisters but it's really only suited to smaller cars like ours, supercars and big BHP seem like a bit of a waste there to me! If he really wants to drive the big name supercars then there's a few places he can do it but not many are on proper race tracks; Three Sisters, Rockingham, Silverstone (although that's often on the smaller Stowe circuit I think so none of the GP bits) and Anglesey are the ones that come to mind within striking distance - of those I think you'll probably get best value out of Anglesey. combatsapph Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Do three sisters do days where you can take your own car then? I can only see package deals where you driver thier cars. Quote
