Collecting bodywork

Hello all,

I am due to collect my bodywork on 2nd Jan and need to hire a van. Can anyone tell me the dimensions so that I know how large :0 I have to go.

When I picked up my chassis I ended up hiring a Jumbo transit (having gone by the dimensions supplied by the factory) and it was wayyyy too big :D

Cheers,

- Dan.

Hi.

I got a long wheel base Transit type van and it was just about the right fit.  Have a look at 21st June in my build diary for some pictures.

I hired a box trailer (about 11ft x 5ft x 6ft high) cost £25.00 for the day, even that had loads of wasted space, but the plus side was I towed it with my own car which still did over 25 mpg and was loads more comfortable than a van!!

long wheel base transit van is the way to go and also make sure you have loads of sheets and anything soft to separate each panel. the main body section is held in shape with wood stringers that the factory fit but all other panels are loose with no protection. i found that pillows and bed sheets were fine but to be extra careful i put an old bed quilt on the floor of the can to stop rubish from the van floor scratching the body work.

sounds a lot but it is your hard earned cash that is being thrown around in a van!!
