Special blat today, took my daughter out. Brill hill with the windmill and scenic look over the valleys. Gorgeous. Stopped off at the pheasant which has gardens overlooking it all with my car in the foreground. Wife cooked dinner but no desert so we indulged with a gooey chocolate fudge brownie desert. Car running very well. Engine rolling road tuned. Suspension Geometry set-up all at NMS doesn't get better than this. Weather warm  but not too warm. Special.

Nice one  :)

I spent all day changing the oil & filter, removing petrol tank, fuel pump and fuel filters and cleaning out all the crud  :(

Going to order a new pump as mine makes a real high pitched whine at the moment, and get some heat shielding for fuel tank and pipes.

If the weather stays like this I should be back on the road in a couple of weeks  :t-up:  :t-up:

I know what you mean Adam, sometimes you go out in Westfield and it all drops into place, traffic (lack of) etc. On those days the Westfield all makes sense and all is right in the world.

Glad the teething troubles are sorted. You'll get to know what's "normal" for your car. Just get out and enjoy it!!  :D  :D  :t-up:  :t-up:

yep, well the dash is the last one problem but only mis-reads when the fan comes on and it didn't come on at all so really enjoyed the drive. You right there was not a single car in front of me and it all just dropped into place.

took the tank out was the crud that bad. Stop getting your petrol from supermarkets  ???  :D My pump was making a funny whine the other day then I noticed I was very low on fuel. I've got a Bosch 044 fuel pump. Heat sheilding I can recommend the heatmatting and high temperature contact adhesive from CBS, very good and does not come off! Wish I had discovered this before I bought the self adhesive stuff that comes off when it gets a little warm.

nah crud was just little specs of stuff...to be honest it's just as likely to have been in there from new from Westfield

(one of) The problem(s) with the underslung exhaust is that it raises the temperature under the fuel tank by quite a bit. This can then semi-vapourise the fuel in the pipes and I believe this damages the fuel pump overtime causing the whining noise. On hot days after some hard driving the noise gets pretty unbearable.

Now that the tank is off I can give it a decent covering of heat matting and I'll cover the pipes too, so hopefully the new pump will fare a bit better.

Yeah old country pub but refurbished to new old style. Very yuppie. Food is first class so are the views. Brewery, really, have to find that!
