RichP Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Morning all A car forum is the obvious place to ask! I need a couple of new kayak paddles. I've limited experience so wondered if anyone could recommend a good on line retailer for kayak equipment. Touring paddles - something asymetric and lightweight. Perhaps not as expensive as carbon..... One for me, one for SWMBO. Suggestions / advice appreciated. Many thanks Rich Quote
congorobot Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I have the "Carlisle Magic" paddles which have been very durable and light. They also split in two which is useful for storage and transportation. I bought mine from Tiso the outdoors shop. Try their website. Dave. Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 No expert myself but a few of my mates are heavily into Kayaking and I go along for a paddle occasionally. Mainly they use Nucleus Watersports possibly because it's local to us and I've been in myself a few times, but they also have a good online shop. Quote
RichP Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Thanks both - a little research has, as always, proved that there's anything from the cheap to the quite stunningly expensive! Oh, and then there's carbon.............. Quote
jerryhzx12 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 mmmmm...caarrbooonnnn....just on point of investing in my first carbon item for the westy....is there a support group should ti all get out of ha nd? Quote
davew Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Try Desperate Measures in Nottingham, they will let you demo a set of paddles. I've been using Werner paddles for years and can't fault them. Quote
