andycox Posted November 29, 2002 Posted November 29, 2002 Hopefully getting a westy early 2003. Ive seen some nice machines on the Terry Nightingale site. Just wondered if anyone out theres had any dealings with them.Good or bad. cheers Quote
Nick M Posted November 29, 2002 Posted November 29, 2002 Seems to have a good reputation among the WSCC Speed Series crowd for car set up, parts, etc. Just be a little careful about the descriptions of the cars. For example, if a car is advertised as having a limited slip diff, make sure it has one. Quote
Mike H Posted November 29, 2002 Posted November 29, 2002 And haggle on the price. Don't forget they are a car dealer and you know what they are like. I was advertising my old car for £12.5k and they rang up and offered a max of £10k to 'take it off my hands' as if they would be doing me a favour - shows you they work on the same margins as any other dealer. Mark Stanton will be along in a short while to remind you to join the club as you'll get the club mag which has loads of cars for sale. all the best Mike Quote
chrisbin Posted November 29, 2002 Posted November 29, 2002 Nice Guy - knows Westys like back of his hand. Nice Cars - doesn't bother with anything without history. But as mentioned, nice prices. If close enough to you, definitely worth a trip. Good Hunting! Quote
Mark Stanton Posted November 29, 2002 Posted November 29, 2002 Thanks Mike, you know it makes sense Quote
jezmilligan Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 Terry did some work on my car a month ago and he did an excellent job - gave me lots of advice and basically showed me what he'd done so that I can do it myself in the future. He's a top bloke and there's nothing he doesnt know about Westfield's. Definitely worth a visit. If you know what you're looking for you'll get a better deal buying privately (if you're no expert you could always persuade a local club member to go along with you). I bought mine privately then got Terry to set it up and iron out a few problems. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 Without entering into legalities whatever may have been said stated etc is best left to PM - otherwise a legal matter may arise and that's best left to others. Thanks Hope you can see where I'm coming from Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 Its in B&W and the only one to make a direct negative comment is the chap who received the invoice - and he has put "in his opinion" - it seems to be o.k at present Would be nice to hear other side of the story perhaps Quote
juansolo Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 Maybe I should remove these ones also that should really confuse people Now only Mark is left looking a little mad. Quote
samcooke Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 Yeah, kewl. Delete that one above, I'll remove this one then you post something like: What are you talking about Mark you big crazy fool of a chairman? Those posts don't make any sense! Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 Now only Mark is left looking a little mad. Puts underpants on head, a pencil up each nostril and shouts "Wibble" Quote
