pistonbroke Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 My daughter just rang , just had a repair bill for replacing rear brakes and pads Parts = £232.00 Labour £ 162.00 £394 for fitting disks and pads Now for the bad news The car is an R reg Diahatsu Grand move , she has been told that the fronts need doing (disks and pads ) and also the front springs are knacked and need replacing . Quote for the above £258 for the springs £338 for disks & pads not sure if thats plus vat Can anyone in the Reading/ Thames area recomend a decent garage she can go to which isn't run by sharks Quote
peterg Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Front discs are £57 a pair and a set of front pads £28 all made by Pagid and supplied by Euro Car Parts, get her to order them and find a small local 'backstreet garage' to fit them they don't seem to stock springs but unless they're actually broken I can't see why they'd need replacing, they don't exactly wear out Quote

Thanks RA Engineering seems to be an engine tuning shop googled "good garage " scheme and seem to be lots of bad rip off reports and scams with a lot of these . Surely someone from here lives in / near reading / woodley area and gets there own car serviced or knows someone who does (a friend or family member ? ) at a reputable garage Quote
