As some of you know, jak & I are taking our Westies for a 2-week tour of France so we shall miss the Curborough party.

When I get back I think I shall be putting my Westy up for sale. It's 5 years since I built it and have had fun with it but I think it's time for a change.

Anyway, and here's your chance to take the pi$$, I have bought a 56 reg 2 litre MX5 that's done 6000 miles. It will be registered in Jan's name. So, it's a sports car, proper hood, heated seats  :D  :D  :D  and goes reasonably well.

I did say to jak if it was raining next Saturday when we set off I'll take the Mazda but he said if I did he'd cut the hood off.... :suspect:  :suspect:

For now, I intend remaining with the WSCC if I'm allowed    as I have made some really good friends both locally and further afield. I don't think I'll join the MX5 OC from what I have seen of them......I just hope that we can get more use of a more practical sports car than the Westy.

But after France, who knows, may export it to a garage over there and keep it???

On the upside, it means you can attend 2 meets in one last-thursday-of-the-month evening :t-up:

Kerry, no critisism from me, you do what's best for you.

We have no bans on which cars visit French Blatting, so if you're near the Loire Valley pop in and we'll have a bottle or 3.

Might just do that sometime,  Norman

Kerry. I know how you feel about the Mazda. I recently bought a 2.2i BMW Z3 Sport (about the last off the line before the Z4 started). Having had the Westfield for seven years I concluded that it wasn't the ideal means of transport for summer trips or holidays but that it had re-ignited my love of soft-top cars - hibernating since my Midget days in the 70s. The Westfield is still taxed and insured and will remain so, but is likely to be a track-day car only more and more. I still love blasting around the local lanes in it, but the plod are more and more intrusive into my pleasures.

I did consider an MX5 and might have even bought one but for the fact that this low mileage hard-top equipped Z3 came along at a good price and the in-line six cylinder engine sounds luverly! I like the heated seats and all the comforts too. Must be my age... :D
