jezmilligan Posted November 18, 2002 Posted November 18, 2002 So I decided to upgrade my headlamps to halogen (they were originally old Mini sealed units). After a couple of weeks of actually being able to see at night they decided to stop working and left me with just the side-lights. Of course I checked all the fuses and the bulbs which are all fine. I didn't build the car myself and the wiring looks a nightmare to work out (even though the bloke who built it did a great job and stuck very much to the manual). Before I spend a full weekend following wires looking for loose connections or melted bits - is this a common Westie problem? Is there a weak point I should look for? Thanks in advance for your help. Linds Posted November 18, 2002 Posted November 18, 2002 I had similar problems. My particular problem was caused by dodgy connections in the plastic plug where the lead from the headlamp connects to the main wiring loom. Chopped the plugs off, fitted new ones, worked fine. Linds Quote
starter Posted November 18, 2002 Posted November 18, 2002 Had something similar but on my C a t e r h a m Is the full beam working? I would check the toggle switch for changing from dipped to full as the contact can get corroded ( just short them out to check) After that check the rocker switch. MikeW Quote
