Been a few times and always stayed on the gulf coast after the first time as I think it's so much nicer than around Orlando.  IIRC it's about an hour and 10 minute drive but you also have Busch Gardens in Tampa which is an excellent theme park.

Usually used these people too - don't know if they will have anything big enough for you but usually half the price of going through a UK travel agent and quality properties on the beach.  There's another outfit called Resort Realty that I have used once too.

Have stayed around kissimee whilst doint the disney parks and then moved over to gulf coast to take a look at busch kennedy etc and a more relaxing period - the disny and mgm universal theme parks are great but can be tiring as well  :D  :D  :D  kissimee is a central location and not too much travelling each day to main parks - have a nice day, enjoy   (does get on yer nerves a bit)  :D  :D  :D

Have relatives who live in Florida, so go fairly frequently. Can't recommend any villas, but would recommend booking your car in advance from the UK, it proves a lot cheaper and some airlines have arrangements with car rental firms for cheap upgrades (Virgin + Alamo car rental, we got an upgrade from basic two door to convertable for $80 for 8 days).

A work colleage of mine is going over soon to stay in a villa, that someone from the Ipswich area owns (not me).  I remember printing off some images of it for him and will try and get the contact for you if you want.  I can get feedback off him of the area at the end of the month.

I stayed in Kissimee a couple of years back , it is Disney central and handy enough for universal and plenty of other stuff, an hour or so drive to either coast.

They do have the hire car service sorted , you get off the plane , pick up your bags, go downstairs and sign for your car, walk 50 yards across the road and drive away :)

Get some change , quarters etc as you may end up on a toll road and some of the booths are unmanned but still want your money

We stayed here when we went to florida.

Its in a place called Davenport which we'd never heard of before we went.

Its about a 20 minute drive from disney parks, 5 minutes from a Walmart and there are some restaurants near by.

The reason we stayed here is because its on a beautiful golf course. Not close enough to the fairway to be hit by anyone though. A free round of golf and discounted club hire was included when we went.

The back is great for BBQs too! (gas BBQ included)

Cleggy I fly across the pond a bit for work.  For a good few years now I have never found flight prices to come down as you get closer to the date.  I could always be wrong but FWIW..........

Delta have had some good deals on recently but always worth having a look at a consolidator like ebookers.
