Hi,

My pre-lit is about 14 years old and starting to show her age, so I've decided I want to re-spray it.

The painting bit isn't a problem on the grounds that it can't look any worse than it does at the moment.

Now for the questions...

1 I'm spraying on fibreglass so what's the best primer to use?

2 Cellulose (bad for the environment) or two pack (bad for me)?

3 Does anybody know of a good supplier that I can order by phone or internet?

4 Any hint's tips on spraying a Westfield?

Thanks in Advance

Rod.

Hi Rod,  it might be cheaper to get new bodywork.

have you tried asking Westfield ?,  :0 would a narrow body fit?    maybe try MK engineering,  or Stuart Taylor Motorsports

or i might be talking out my  :arse:

for paint suppliers try Cromadex, or Paintstore,

Good luck,

cheers Rob

Recently put this question to the local fibreglassing company from me and they recommended giving it to a body shop and having it sprayed in "two pack polyeurathane" but you would need breathing appuratus to do it yourself.

It may be worth a phonecall to Brown Brothers as they are an ICI / Auto colour paint supplier. They will probably put you in touch with ICI's technical help line, & recommend a "one pack" version suitable for fibreglass that you can spray yourself.

But at the end of the day IMHO get a bodyshop to do it!

I am interested in what information you get on this topic as i to wish to either respray my westfield or replace some of the panels.  IS it possible to fit the new style megablade bonnets to a narrow body westfield?  Also any contacts for body part suppliers (kit cars!!;) would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure a Megablade bonnet won't fit a narrow bodied car. It may be worth asking the factory if there is any way they could make a narrow bonnet with the scoop in it, 'cos if you don't ask, you'll never know...............

You can buy new panels, including a compete rear tub section, for narrow bodied cars, but they're made to order, AFAIK, so you may have a bit of a wait, if you order new.......

As for parts suppliers, click on the Links page from the homepage.......

'fraid not mate the Megablade bonnet wont fit a narrow body - have tried and asked Westfield too and NOPE!

They wont supply anything except the standard one    ???  :(

If you do find anything different please let me know
