waynem Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 It can be a bit tedious sourcing every nut and bolt from various sources... The same must go for adding TB Injection to an engine.. Manifolds, bodies, trumpets, linkages, injectors, sensors, looms, ECUs... So many bits to remember.. So, can anyone suggest a suppliers who can provide an all inclusive kits of parts to get a 2.0L Zetec running on throttle bodies ? I'm being a bit pre-emptive as this particular hurdle is a way off, but the early bird gets the worm after all.... Quote
Nick M Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 First obvious stops would be Dunnel and Raceline. They use bits from other suppliers but bring them all together in one package and, crucially, have the knowledge about which bits work together and which don't. Another issue to bear in mind is that while, on the face of it, you'd think it's easy enough to get bits from a variety of different suppliers and combine them this can end up being a more expensive route, not least because you can usually negotiate a discount with one company for a complete kit. That's not to say you shouldn't shop around for some parts as there are savings to be had provided you know what you need. Things like fuel hose and fittings are generally cheaper from places like Speedflow and Think Automotive for example. And things like injectors are readily available from scrapyards. Quote
Bananaman Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 Just been looking into this & Scholar engines seem to offer best value. Wiring loom £220 ECU £400 Air temp sender £17 Inlet manifold £89 Throttle bodies £382 Injectors(4) £240 Air horns(4) £48 Throttle pot £35 Fuel press. Reg. £39 Air Filter £42 Filter back plate £15 Total £1527 + VAT Kit price £1298 + VAT = £1525 They also do a full engine bored out to 2.1 with throttle bodies, set up 220bhp =£3449 + VAT = £4052 Andy Quote

The have a Clubman Injection kit which seems to include everything for about £1800 !!, but if..... Kit price £1298 + VAT = £1525 They also do a full engine bored out to 2.1 with throttle bodies, set up 220bhp =£3449 + VAT = £4052 This seems to be an interesting possibility....... As for 220bhp! Hmmmm!!! I'm aiming for around 160bhp+ whilst I get used to the car which should be plenty. The in me says more! More! MORE!!!!! Andy, are you planning to do all the mods yourself ? If so, do you know any local rolling road/tuners which can be used post-modification for setting up/mapping ? Scholar in Suffolk is a long way to go from Cheshire!!!! Cheers! Quote
Fast Westie Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 The map I got from Scholar worked straight away Quote
Bananaman Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Sorry Wayne Don't know of any rolling roads in Cheshire. I would have thought that Scholar would be able to provide a standard map for the standard cams. I'm sure if you post here or go along to the Cheshire meet someone will be able to point you in the direction of a RR. Andy The map I got from Scholar worked straight away I hate it when that happens Quote
JamesD Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Try DTA as well their kit works out about the same a Scholar and LOADS of the hillclimb people use them, plus the free software is very cool, you can download a copy to play with from the DTA website Speak to Alan, I think the kit less injectors is £1350 + VAT I have looked everywhere and I have decided to go with DTA Quote
Chris.B Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 I can't see any contact details for Scholar on the web. Has anybody got these??? Cheers Quote
