Mark (smokey mow) Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 For those that missed it, Crystal Palace played host to it's first motor racing event in 10years at the weekend with a Sprint incorportating may sections of the original GP track. The event was very much a celebration of the History of racing at the old Palace Circuit with a good turn out of many classics and historics that had raced (and won) events there in the past. There was also some more modern sprint cars to put on a good show for the large crowds that attended. Duncan Cowper's Dax took FTD for the weekend but the solitary Westfield entry of Ritchie Gatt claimed a creditable 3rd fastest on the Monday. The electric class was surreal to watch and the Tesla's put in some very respectable times, not quite sure what happened to the Westfield iracer though which Matt Hillam was billed to be running but sadly wasn't there on the day. I'm kicking myself for not putting in an entry myself (I thought about it ), but as a spectator on the day Sevenoaks& District MC ran the event like clockwork with some good commentry for the crowds and great PR for the sport. http://www.motorsportatthepalace.com Looking forward to next years A few pics from the event and many more here Quote

Great event and a really nice weekend ! you're a lucky man, that's a cracking looking car. It's so nice to see them being used for what they were built rather than gathering dust in a museum. Quote
