Muttleys V8 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Does anyone in the know, know what commission rates are charged to employers for finding middle - high end sales candidates in a sales and marketing role? Answers on a postcard please? Thanks Steve Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 dunno what the norm is but have paid 10-15% of sales Quote
jeff oakley Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 It all depends on what they want, I have seen quotes of 20% of salary plus a fee of around £1k. The employers need to negotiate before hand. My experiance is that agencies are usually idle and send the wrong people and will willingly see perfect people not get a job because they try to negotiate more even after the agreement. Good luck anyway Quote

Richard Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Some agencies will go to 20 - 25% of starting salary. Can make a big difference as to whether you get the job or not!! If your unfortunate enough to be competing for a job which has been advertised on a local website then I'm afraid there is normally only one winner... unless, you use your initiative and try and make a deal with the potential employer!!?? Chris.B Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I'm currently recruiting people into my Consultancy & have had several organisations from Exec search companies to recruitment agencies engaged in the search. Rates vary from 20% to 40% of 1st year salary. Edited to add: These positions are not Sales roles but high end IT management consultants, but at least it gives some idea of the current rates I'm being charged. Quote

leighc Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 in the finance industry it's usually 20% of salary Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I won't use the agencies any more. We advertise in the trade press but aim the ad to the company we'd like to recruit from. Currently looking for a high end sales person. However I have a "thing" about sales people - they all seem to me to be lazy effers but want top money for doing half of what I can do. Quote

Norman Verona Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 DMS. It's the systems franchised car dealers use to manage the sales, sevice, parts and accounts. The OTE is £100,000 but do you think we can find a good candidate. The agencies sent us Acme broom salesman. Quote
Bean Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I've hired my past two employees through Monster, done the leg work myself and it's been hugely successful. Work did have to pay Monster's fees which weren't cheap (£7k for a year I think) but worked out a lot cheaper than paying agency commissions of ~20% yearly salary per head count I'm talking IT sys admin bods, not high end Execs Quote
