Someone recently posted some useful info about the journies you may make prior to SVA for specific prebooked purposes (garages for SVA preparation etc?)referring to various bits of legislation. B*****ed if I can find it now - tried searching but I think is was one of those subjects that evolved from something else. Anyone help?

That wasn't abuse, just a bit of friendly joshing........

when i got my form to fill in for sva, i read the book that came with it

Perhaps a trip to your local VRO or SVA centre will provide better details than the earlier discussion, although no doubt some-one will turn up shortly to tell you where you can get it from.

Also, have a look around Steppenwolf's web site, and try putting SVA into his search engine. There'll be loads...........I don't know where he finds the time........

Aha! Seek and you shall find.

Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994, Section 22, sub-paragraph 3.

'3.Where the relevant certificate is refused on a compulsory test of a vehicle or as a result of a relevant re-examination, the vehicle is an exempt vehicle when it is being solely for the purpose of -

(a) delivering it (by previous arrangement for a specified time on a specified date) at a place where relevant work is to be done on it, or

(b) bringing it away from a place where relevant work has been done on it.

No offence taken ole chap - nothin' like a bit of abuse - good for the soul don't cher know
