Jean Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Hello to all, I'm new on the forum, and therefore presenting myself. I'm thinking about buying a Westfield 7 kit in nearby future. just wondering a bit of what to choose. it' ll be used mainly for road, even daily. Since putting a kitcar on the road in Belgium isn't as easy as in Uk, I prefer taking my time before choosing. I was thinking about 2 different options: or a tuned duratec based kit or the Vauxhall based Westfield turbo with a 1.5 stage tuning. This together with a dry sump and Quaife diff. What do You think ? All reactions are welcome. Anyway for the moment I'm still gathering the funds. Regards Jean Quote
MK11 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Hello and welcome from England! I am afraid I can't offer any advice on which Westfield to buy, but only tell you that which ever one you choose you will love it! Don't get too much taken in by the BHP race, my first Westfield SE was a 1.6 Pinto and my current XI has a 1.275 A Series putting out a stunning 83bhp, they are both very quick cars comparred to most normal saloons and they are superb fun to drive at any speed which for me is more important than outright speed. Have fun and I am sure you will love the car whichever you choose, (And I'm also sure that others will be along to advise you of the "best" engine!) Quote
chris7273 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Hello I am from Belgium, I live in the Brabant Wallon. Where are you from ? Quote

FW500 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Hi I'm travelling through Europe at the end of next month in my Westy and will be stopping off in Antwerp on the way and Brussels on the way back (hopefully!). If you're nearby you're very welcome to have a look at mine. It's not the factory turbo but it's a vauxhall turbo creation of my own. Quote

chris7273 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Not yet... but soon.... Politicians have to justify their salary. Problem with Belgium is the lack of long term view. King Leopold II said : "Petit pays, Petit esprit"... still true. Quote
Jean Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Hy Chris, bonjour, aucun probleme pour moi, je partage tout a fait votre avis. there is no war yet, but what the futur will bring we have to vote on the same people that started the crisis, and the same that did not find the solution. so now they will promise us they will find a way out comprenne qui peut the exact thing is we have way to many polititians, and they all want the part of the job... the good point: the rest of the world has something to laugh Quote
