owlscastle Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Now Sold As I have now bought another Westy with a fine engine I dont really need my 1.7 Puma SE engine I was saving. It is newly built and has been in my orange westy for about 50 miles before I decided to sell the car. It is based on a 1.7 Puma engine, spec as follows:- New block Ported head with oversize valves, HD springs and titanium retainers. Swindon Super 1600 spec cams. Steel crank, keyed. New farndon steel rods Wiseco Forged Pistons Swindon spec baffled sump. Swindon billet cam belt tensioner Lightweight steel flywheel AP 184mm twin plate clutch Jenvey 45 twin throttle bodies, linkage, filter. Engine mounts for Westy. Stainless steel 4.2.1 low manifold and 8inch silencer, all new by Powerspeed. Mapped at Torque of the Devil on an Omex 600 and gave nearly 180bhp, which was down on expectations based on a smilar engine I have built. Double checked afterwards and found cam timing was not right. Now have a set of vernier pulleys to fit to get it spot on. Should add some more BHP. Looking for around £3k for what is essentially a new engine. Willing to help and advise with install. Ritchie
