Mike dB Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Hello, Come on then who gives good quotes for a 54 yr old & his 26 yr old son? Also whilst I'm on insurance is there a 'club' policy whereby trackday cover is 'free' or was I just spoilt with the people who insured the mr2? Is there anywhere online that gives quotes I hate talking on the phone, looked at Tesco but they only had c******m & that was £900! Quote
Mike dB Posted October 22, 2002 Author Posted October 22, 2002 OK, I used the search engine! Footman James & Hill House Hammond seem to be the 'best'? Quote
Blatman Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Saved me a posting........ Try Dave Spragg at MSM too. Not always the cheapest, but the service is excellent. I have also heard good reports from 2 people who have had to make claims via Dave. It appears that the customer service from him when it's time to pay out is just as good as when he's getting money in! He has my business for my green car. My hillclimb car is insured with HHH. Quote
Warren E Smith Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Footman James used to be affiliated with Westfield somehow. Also, Westfield own "club" (aagh cant' remember the name) were offering insurance too (probably via footman james...) FJ were good and efficient last year. HHH were efficient, but I have reservations about them. Thanks W Quote
Mike dB Posted October 22, 2002 Author Posted October 22, 2002 Do you have a phone number for Dave Spragg at MSM? Thanks. Quote
Mike dB Posted October 22, 2002 Author Posted October 22, 2002 Thank you Blatman! Just a thought for the 'forum' someone should make a FAQ with things like insurance companies who can be trusted & places to buy spares for the local area. Or is there one already, hhmmm Quote
Blatman Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Searching the forum would be just as fast, if not a bit faster, than digging through a load of FAQ's, IMO, and you get a far broader set of opinions using the search. There is no such thing as too much knowledge, IMO........ FAQ's would not be nearly so complete............ Quote
Mike dB Posted October 22, 2002 Author Posted October 22, 2002 Yes, you're right, it was just a thought I just envisaged a lot of the members getting 'annoyed' at seeing the same posts quite frequently. Maybe I've just been on lists with people who get annoyed too easily? Anyway keep up the good work Quote
Blatman Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 A little netiquette is all that's required, IMO. A FAQ on that, as it would be applied to this BB, and how to use the search function, would be a good idea, I reckon......... Quote
Diamond Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Mike, I am 26 and have my car (2.0 Pinto) insured with Adrian Flux forthe past couple of years at a price of £280. Hope this helps Quote
DAZ Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Hi there I've tried HHH,Footman James and Adrian Flux for a Megablade 4500miles a year, not a 2nd car and just myself to drive. £280,£300,@£360 accordingly, tried Osbournes (08453306001) they came in at £269 for 5000 miles and the wife to drive aswell, have had trouble getting through to MSM but will give them a try. Si Stocks Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Sureterm may also be worth a try - I, as well as some others, have got competitive premiums from them (and they give agreed value) which you will see from previous posts is preferable... HTH S Quote
DAZ Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Got through to Dave Spragg @ MSM,what a very nice bloke, very very helpful.Quote came in at £272 not my cheapest quote but for £3 extra the way he came across i think it will be worth it if i have to make a claim. DAZ Quote
