Paul Aspden Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 The answer to that is don't crash in the first round of the championship in a car you don't own, then double drive at the next round, in the championship leading car, beat it's owner, then watch him crash it!!!! I seem to have a bit of reputation..... So after two outings and two damaged cars it was off to silverstone with a big thanks to Mick, Reg, Justin & Tom for rebuilding the car after round one. Mick, being the generous friend that he is, suggested the car be double driven by Crash & Bash (AKA Me & Garry Bunn)...or it would have been......after two practice runs by Bash & one by me, we established that there was a little residual problem now evident, the rear hub was eating the upright, cos in the accident it had damage the upright, allowing the hub to move inwards....game over for today! Then just as I'd taken my overalls off, I was told that Derek was going to let me double drive his car, and the Clerk of the course had no objections, so on went the overalls. Bash also had a similar offer to drive Barney's beast, which meant bike engine power and a paddle shift...... Now I have to say that the two candidtes least likely to be offered drives are the two who have already crashed this season! So it's a testiment to the guys in the series & the enduring friendships that both of us had the pleasure of a drive. So a big thanks to Derek for letting me loose in his car & to Barney for letting Garry have a go. Thankfully neither suffered accident damage and our reputations survived another day... Roll on Hethel! Quote

Roll on Hethel! I did offer Paul. You and Bunny with bike engine and paddle shift would have been interesting. Not I could have taken the stress though. Quote
