Brucester Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 Does anyone use any of the High Octane fuel additives, if so which one do you use and is it any good? Quote
Nick M Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 I've used the Aldon Octane Booster and it definitely works to stop pinking, etc. Whether it gives any performance edge I couldn't say. My car needs super unleaded to run properly but the local garage doesn't sell it. The first run the engine was pinking but as soon as I put the octane booster in it stopped. Wouldn't like to run it on a regular basis or at high revs but as a stop gap to get me to the next petrol station with super unleaded it works a treat. Quote
neo Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 i use silcolene pro boost its excellent stuff, i also have used it in all my other high proformance stuff ive owned like a scooby STI 5 and M3 evo etc,i now use it in my westy and can feel the difference across the board, sometimes i use it with optimax as well, Quote
Kevin Wood Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 I use miller's VSP plus and haven't had any problems. One of the nice side effects is that it brings back colouring of the spark plug nose, which doesn't really happen so well with unleaded petrol. This means you can read the plugs much better.
