Asterix Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 1 tonne engine crane on the shopping list. Sealey, Clarke or other...which is best/ cheapest (or are they all of similar quality)? Quote
Blatman Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Got a Clarke one from Machine Mart. Had it for a few years now. Good quality finish, easy to use. I'd buy another one... Quote
mark.anson Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Got a Clarke one from Machine Mart. Had it for a few years now. Good quality finish, easy to use. I'd buy another one... Machine Mart one will be fine, but if its only a one off for putting the engine in pete , then you could hire one for about £25. Quote

adamnreeves Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Or take the rent free option that I did. Buy off Ebay use it for a few months and then sell back at the same price or even make a profit depending on how cheap you managed to purchase it in the first place! Quote

Ta Mark, I can see the engine going in and coming out 4 times in the next 10 months , so economies point to purchase. Quote

But did you buy Clarke or Sealey (or other well known make) or was it an unknown make? Of course. I got Clarke, in fact the very same one as Blatters but instead of paying retail of £245 I bought for £100. It had little use as well. Quote
Moody Blue Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Asterix, I have a Clarke CFC100 with balancing sling which I bought new in 2008. Only used 3 times so obviously in excellent nick. Guess it would be worth about £70? if you are interested. You don't show what part of the country you are in so no idea if you are close or far far away! Quote
