lippydave Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 yeh i hope bradley does well this year he has really grown up now and wish him the best,as for motogp .rossi ,stoner ,george lorenzo Ditto on Bradley.... See you're all going for the safe option with 3 of the 4 aliens.. I think , (and hope) that Spies has the ability to step it up and take it to them as the season progresses..... Think Senor George Lawrence may (to quote a certain K.Schwantz) ... "Fall apart like a cheap watch"... Looking forwrad to Rossi's mind games with all of 'em this year..... Stoner has owned Quatar for the lat couple of years, so my podium for this weekend, Stoner, Rossi, Hayden.... Quote
Fat Albert Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 . Oh Stevie! QUOTE Whilst I really enjoy MotoGp and the close, side by side racing and admire the skill & bravery of the riders... There is as much if not more overtaking in an average British championship Formula Ford race and those cars go round corners MUCH faster than a two tiny contact patch bike can and they operate in the same one gravity no down force/aero environment. MGP bikes have a better power to weight ratio, accelerate faster, have similar top speeds with admittedly poorer brakes, why is it then that some circuits see MGP bikes 30s or more slower than their F1 equivalents?... because their corner apex speed can be less than half that of an F1 car. At Sepeng, Rossi set pole last year at 2m0.5s, Webber's fastest lap in practice 3 this season was 1m33.5s, 27s faster Brave, athletic, admirable though they are, the physics involved in racing side by side on a corner at 90 mph does not compare with that doing the same thing at 180!, you are comparing apples with oranges, flyweights with heavyweights, NASCAR with real motor racing, get real Quote

pistonbroke Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 QUOTE Ask Webber or Schumacher who they think the real brave racers are? My guess would be the "road racers" and I dont see Rossi & Co in there Quote

My guess would be the "road racers" and I dont see Rossi & Co in there Agreed, Guy Martin and the Paddies are all raving fruitloops.... Webber is a big MotoGp fan, and Schumacher found out how hard it is when he had a go aT German national superbike level....( He was fairly handy tho'...) Quote

tex Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 aye i would agree there.. Isle of man riders? Brain still left in the pit lane.. Mental or skilled? In which order? Lol Quote
cast iron Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Ask Webber or Schumacher who they think the real brave racers are? most of the WRC drivers, who at least do it on the loose between trees Quote
SteveD Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 i would rather be surround by carbon fibre or a tin top with cage ,than hanging off a moto gp bike at 180mph Quote
Blatman Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 i would rather be surround by carbon fibre or a tin top with cage ,than hanging off a moto gp bike at 180mph But that's merely perspective. I have no preference. I wouldn't want to crash either way but if I were to crash, in a car, you're strapped in so you end up going in with all the kinetic energy of the car. On a bike, you let go and you aren't carried along with the mass of the entire vehicle. On the other hand, in a car, you're strapped in. In a bike, you fall off... Quote

I feel far safer on a bike on the road than strapped into the Westie below the eye line of the majority of numbskulls on the road.... Maybe it's because I grew up with bikes but if I had to choose between having a big one in a Westie or a big one on a bike, I'd pick the bike every time.... PS. At Home now spannering on the Westie and watching re-run MotoGP duels on Eurosport... Live practice from Qatar at 18.00 on Eurosport tonight...Woooohooooo! Quote
