Evo,s 7SE Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 to you people using the v2 pro helmets what is the visor fitment like does it seal out all the wind as i am thinking of getting one to use for the road .the fit of the visor on my simpson is crap and dont want to buy another lid to be left with the same problem .calling a4gom as i see you were using one at croft .thanks in advance Quote
stephenh Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Cant comment on the V2 helmets, but surprised you have the problem you describe with the Simpsons helmet. At the risk of asking a daft question, does it have a ventilation system, and if so have you got the vents open by mistake? Personally, I like the vents open on my helmets (one Impact and one Norton) as it helps to avoid or at least cut down on condensation, and misting up of my specs., but it can feel slightly breezy in winter use. Evo,s 7SE Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 the visor doesnt fit the shell of the helmet and speaking to a simpson dealer there all like it the other two simpsons ive had have all been the same .there can be a gap of 1 to 2 mill makes it very draughty.not good on a £500 helmet Quote
LocoR1 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 looking at the v2 pro site they have changed the design since i brought mine about a year ago so cant comment on the latest ones. Would have to say i am very disappointed with mine, suppose as with anything you get what you pay for! compared with the AGV bike lid it replaced i find it very noisy and draughty the visor fit isn't great , considering it hardly gets used the lining is starting to fall apart already! Probably not what you wanted to here but i defiantly wouldn't buy another. Dave... Quote
a4gom Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 i'm happy enough with mine keith, the helmet has a seal around the appature and the visor shuts tight on it and locks in place. imo its as good as the cheapest helmet demon thieves sell if not better and half the price. if you're not in too much of a rush have a look at harewood or call over if you want to look before. cast iron Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 My V2 visor fits but they arent BS marked so dont think they are road legal? The dark visor looks specially moulded however the clear visor looks like it has been cut out of a bit of scrap with a blunt hacksaw! Quote
a4gom Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 yours is the old design mark, not sure if its got a kite mark but the clear visor i have is as good as the smoked one Quote
