JeffC Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 so.. had a call from a place today 01952211670 google shows them as excell comunications. anyway they reckon they can supply me a new phone of my choice , 1000 minutes 1000 texts keep my number and stay with orange (who ive been with from day1 ) all for £15 per month or £20 if I want the latest blackberry they tell me they do this deal as im a ltd company and would go onto a business tariff, Im currently not on a business tariff and never have been so wondered if Ive been over paying for 15 years . does this sound like a scam or just a good deal then and while im on Im not actually eligiable for an upgrade for 2 weeks and was going to renew and get a new phone anyway, wanted something that I an use for email etc when I spoke to orange they can do me either blackberry97008220 8700 sony x10 nokia x6? htc I think they said for £30 per month. anyone pick a winner from the above Quote
mud Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Jeff i had excell call me a few years ago offering this and that but when pushed on how i would receive this great deal it was based upon redemption vouchers and claiming the money back after certain time periods ie 6months and again at 12 months and you had to be bang on the date.dont touch them with a barge pole. Regarding which handset the iphone 3gs is the only way to go.I was very skeptical at first but i wouldnt swap it for all the tea in china. Quote
JeffC Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 if something is too good be true and all that. just had a look at that phone and looks good blackberry looks an aquired taste Quote
slater Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I have an HTC HD2, nice phone but I broke the screen on day one it is not a builders phone. With T mobile bussiness tariff unlimited calls to any mobile or land line, unlimited texts and unlimited internet £28 per month, only downside my 15 year old daughter uses it to call all her mates in the evening by the way new screen £100. lewis. Guest Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 i too have an HTC HD2 ..... and its way better than an Iphone , I too am on t mobile ,and my tarrif costs me £25 as a personal user , but then i get t-mobile 50% off staff rate (and no i don't work for them or any other phone company) I also get free phone insurance with my bank , so new screens are free ..... Barry Ashcroft Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 The new iphone, smart phone killer will be here soon on Voda Nexus Quote
cast iron Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I have an HTC and would never have another its so flippin delicate. I bought it privately to use my company sim. Its held together with sticky tape now after only a year Quote
dombanks Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I'm really harsh on phones, and have never had one that looks normal after a year. I don't know what I do to them, I put screen covers on etc but they still look like they've been run over with a truck. Usually after a year they stop working properly but this iPhone seems to be fine it's only a 8gb 3g but it's defo the best phone I've had Quote
langy Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I recently got a Blackberry 9700 (on Orange) with 900 minutes and texts a month for £25/month (discounted from £35) +£49.99 initial fee. This was through mobiles.co.uk (who are part of the Carphone warehouse). The £10/month has to be claimed back by sending them copies of 2 bills for specific months, so guess, providing you make yourself a reminder on you new phones calender, no problems (famous last words). I assume they rely on people not remembering to claim the money back. I have had Nokia's to date and the BB did take a bit of getting used to. They are a good bit if kit, however, if you want apps (a la iphones) then there isn't such a chice and they aren't cheap. But they are great tool and good for emails. HTH Quote
funbobby Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Iphones are by far the best thing invented in a long time. Nothing else comes close. At a push the latest Blackberry arent to bad. Quote
Jenko Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I stuck with a good old standard type Nokia (6303) - Nice long battery life, and very rugged.....Thats all I need...BUT, because I went for a basic phone, the Carphone wearhouse knindly gave me a PS3 to sweeten the deal :-) Quote
Boxerman33 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 For business users, particularly emails it has to be BB, the latest 9700 is best phone I've ever had. Quote
