peterpeter Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 The main problem with my speedo, is that it reads eratically, over 50 mph. The sensor over the driveshaft is at an odd angle so it isnt seeing the bolts well at hight speeds. Moving the sensor to a more perpendicular position might help, but seems difficult. Is there a totally different system for measuring speed accurately available??? Anything digital??? Or anything that runs off the wheels or the road?? or should i buy a new speedo All suggestions welcome Quote
stu999 Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 The distance between the driveshaft bolts and the pickup is very critical. The manual says 1-3mm, but it really seems to be a case of trying it as close as you can, and work back from there. When adjusting, use the bolt that is closest to the sensor (due to tolerances) then you know you are not going to wipe the sensor out when you go testing. People in the past have quoted using gaps in the region of 0.5mm to get an accurate reading. They will work properly, honest! HTH Stu. Quote
