Emma Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Local pappers arent saying much I expect that we will now have 5 billion "safety cameras" put up on the road this used to ba a 60 but is now a 40 all the way from Portesham to bridport for 12 miles one of the best roads in the country Is this really the appropriate thread to make a point about how annoying speed cameras / limits are? Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. Quote

RoadRunner999 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Very very sad news indeed - thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. Such a shame, this is one of the most fantastic and beautiful runs in the area - probably one of my favourite routes. The view is absolutely stunning dropping down over Chesil Beach into Abbotsbury. This accident and those involved will now always be on my mind when I drive it Quote
MIKE.WILLIAMS1 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 John Wade was the driver,A very experienced driver who competed in the aswmc championship for many years. We both ran zetecs in our cars and he was my closest competitor usually only 10ths of a second between us on all the events we done together. He will be sorely missed. Quote

Darrell O'Neill Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I knew John and I recognised his car from the pics but could'nt confirm that it was him driving. We competed in the same class for a few years now at Castle Hillclimb, Werrington HC, Chivenor and St. Eval. We had spent many hours in the paddock making excuses for our performances. Last year at Chivenor sprint he turned up with westie on his tow dolly as normal only to find the long grass had found its way into the timing belt as he towed it into the venue. Upon starting it caused the timing to go out and his day way over before it began. Undetered he stuck his numbers in the window on his BMW desiel tow barge and carried on with a days racing. He was a wonderful bloke with a passion for life and his car I only wish i had gotten to know him even better. He'll be sadly missed. Condolences to his family. Quote
