KerryS Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I have found this website that has scanned images of all Meccano Magazines. As I say, one for the older ones amongst us........ Quote
Norman Verona Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Wonderful! The kids of today miss out on the hours of fun spent building meccano objects. I just can't see what fun there is in playing computer games, crashing cars and killing people. Quote

Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I was any excuse to build stuff out of mechano when I was a kid - breaking up other toys for their electric motors to use - ahh and the smell of buring elastic bands my kids love lego and they also have some early learner mechano type stuff I don't mind admitting I love making things up with them - mind you my eldest (nearly five) loves the PS3 which we let him play a couple of times a week Quote
Rory's Dad Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I bet all of the older ones amongst us had a big box of Meccano... Rory's (elderly) Dad Quote
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 lego has one too click Quote
stephenh Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 My favorite was a dragster built of mechano!! Long wires to connect it to the transformer, so it could accelerate over the full length of the room. Great!! I cant remember what I did with all my mechano. Must get up in the loft some time and have a rummage. Quote
RICHARD+PHILIP Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I've got the old fashined mechanno but I noticed on James mays program (where he built a bridge) the modern mechano uses allen bolts which must be a whole heap easier and far less chance of getting stabbed by the screwdriver Quote
