zvezdochka Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 Just been to friendly ford dealer for diff oil. Only available in 5 litre size and special order (2 weeks!. Explained that I only need 1.2 litres but told to try halfords as "It'll probably be cheaper". Tried halfords but their guide gives 2 alternatives for the sierra diff SAE 90 and SAE 80W 90. Which is correct for normal diff (not LSD)? Quote
Kevin Wood Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 It it's a Sierra diff we're talking about they don't need anything special in the oil department. Either of the 2 you mention would be OK. I think I put 80W90 in mine. Kevin Quote
Bryan Hayes Posted September 30, 2002 Posted September 30, 2002 One thing to be aware of is that you need a heavy duty oil, in the past many applications used the same oil in the box and diff. Shell range is Spirax A 80/90, hope this helps. Quote
