Brucester70 Posted September 24, 2002 Posted September 24, 2002 I have not had my Westy that long and am thinking about popping up to one of the run what ya bring things at santa pod. I have a Vauxhall 2.0 pre-ecotec with twin webber 45's, on 15" Alloys. I have no idea what sort of quarter times are achievable yet, any ideas? Are sub 15 secs possible? Also a friend has just picked up a Uk Scooby X-Reg, its got a new pipe and air filter, any ideas how the westy will get on against the scoob down the strip, imagine it would be close. Cheers Quote
stu999 Posted September 24, 2002 Posted September 24, 2002 IMO you should be looking at around mid to high 13s. But, like everything, it depends on soooo much. I went to a Vauxhall car club RWYB earlier this year and watched a new Scooby get wasted by a 16v Nova, which was really struggling for traction. With that in mind, with the same engine, RWD, and a lot less weight, disposing of your friends Scooby should be no probs. However, no LSD, banana skin tyres, unsuitable gearing, etc etc all play a part. Good luck in finding out if you do go, and let us know how you get on! Quote

SEiGHT Posted September 24, 2002 Posted September 24, 2002 Traction off the line will be your biggest problem at Santa Pod. If you can master that you should be able to do a sub-14 second quite easily. I went up against a WRX300 and whilst he was off the line and over the first 60ft before me my power to weight ration meant in the end I beat him by 8/10ths (13.5 vs 14.2) Quote
peterg Posted September 25, 2002 Posted September 25, 2002 14.2 vs 13.5 eerrmmmm shouldn't that be 7/10ths Quote
SEiGHT Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 Oops, I just copied it off the timing report. That extra 1/10th was due to my quick reactions Quote
