richd Posted September 16, 2002 Posted September 16, 2002 Got my 2.0 ZETEC (WEBER 45s) throught the registration gubbins the week before SVA, had to move away to work, put it up on props and there it stayed until 3 weeks ago. Passed the MOT no problems, but in those passing years have forgotten most things, not that i ever knew much in the first place. Had a missfire, so took it to "PowerStation" (lottery winners only should go). The verdict : fuel pressure too high, fuel was coming out of the Webers. It had a pressure of 6.5 psi, and was told that it should be 4psi. Do you think that this is my only problem (as far as the petrol is concerned) or should i be looking further? Can you recommend a pressure regulator to use, and where to buy it from (apart from the dreaded DTs). Also i have YOKOHAMA "A520" 205/50 on 16" rim and can't remember the tyre pressures Many thanks Quote
Phil P Posted September 16, 2002 Posted September 16, 2002 Hello Rich Regarding fuel pressure 6.5psi does sound way too high for weber carbs. The set up I have on my car is a purolator chrome dial type of regulator - easy to set up as the dial is calibrated & you just set it to the pressure you want - I would have thought 2.5 - 3 psi should be bang on - thats what mine's set to (admittedly mine's a xflow running twin 40s). Got mine from DT & was about £20 I think This is something you should not leave as raw fuel washing down the bores can cause glazed bores - head off job to fix. Hope this helps Phil P Quote
richd Posted September 16, 2002 Author Posted September 16, 2002 Many Thanks Phil Will bite the bullet and call DT (at least you know they will have it stock) Quote

Paul Ash Posted September 16, 2002 Posted September 16, 2002 You can also source a ' filter king' combined filter / pressure regulator from Burtons £20 ish. Pt no - FPR004 Pressure setting for Webbers 2.5 - 3 psi. Quote
