Lurksalot Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 As a window installer I have a love of expanding foam, but fair play, that is a quality tale, quality told. Many thanks for the liquids/keyboard warnings soooo necessary Quote
tex Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 lol.. And used to worry about model making mess when i was 10. Dust just dont compare! Quote
gixermark Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 lol good story !! it is interesting stuff... i was surprised how quickly it started to 'cure' hence i was a little stressed to get in it the bag... and me in 'position' !! Andy Bates has a rather interesting story of a bust bag....... and some foam entering a poor racers's anal crack !!!! sounded like a painfull removal process..... on his advise i doubled bagged !!!!! now having the raw seat made - its a great article.... just hope i can get it covered in a tasteful way... oioi Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 if you take your time duct tape can look perfectly respectable. when it gets shabby after a year or so you can easily repair. Quote
Plays-Kool Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Demon tweaks had some nomex material that had a little stretch in it. Worth a look in their catalogue. Quote
cast iron Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 a friend of mine worked for a large white goods manufacturer, part of there process was to insulate the fridge casings with two pack foam One of the lads was fitting a new kitchen and bathroom and decided to fill the cavity under his bath with some such foam you can gues where this is going He chucked two tins under the bath, very shortly it was rapidly expanding, it lifted the bath clear off its fittings bursting the pipes and flooding the bathroom and (new kitchen) at the same time Quote
