stephenh Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Blatters , how did you manage to strap down the midget coming out of your tent bag? Its not a midget, its a Healey 3000!! Quote
Liam Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The piccy shows it on the return leg of my Le Mans trip in '07. Luggage for two blokes for 7 days. There's a tent, a cooker, a table, two chairs, clothes, tools and all the necessary extras. Boot box? Pah Yes, but it was all soaking wet when you got there Quote
Blatman Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Nope. The big bag on which the two chairs are resting is almost waterproof, and inside, all the gear was inside plastic bags, so the only thing wet was the chairs, which dried out in the sun in a couple of hours. Not that it rained much in '07. 2001 and 2006 were altogether different But it's not that difficult to get dried out. The biker in me doesn't mind a bit of rain The next evolution is to buy the XL size North Face duffel, which is both strong and properly waterproof, and bigger than the bag I (we) currently use, so I'll be taking even more gear with me this year... if I actually get around to buying it... Bean Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 My bootbox wasn't any better, made out of ali and gaffer tape. Not by me I might add! Threw it away and fitted a flat carbon panel Quote
tex Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 if you do want a boot box i would make it out of ally - far lighter and you could make the box fit better by adding smaller areas of unused space lower than the fibre box would go.. there are pockets of space unused if you work it out. then either use waterproof carpet and water tight lid.. try to think of getting it out easy too Quote
stussysoil Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Just bought full set of bodywork for a narrow which came with a boot box that I will not be using, (in British Racing Green) If interested give me a call on 07599 798920. Paul, out of curiosity how much was a full set of bodywork for a narrow? (not a problem if you don't want to divulge) Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 LOL - you should ebay it. A Locoster would love it Quote
Fent Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I'm keeping my standard westfiled bootbox, it's a brilliant bit of design, 24 cans fit in perfectly and with Stoneliegh coming up... Quote
