Guest
Hello, Went to my local car shop to buy some Escort Mk. 3/4/5 front solid brake disks only to discover there are two types & I don't know which are correct. The difference is in the disk offset: | <-- disk | _ | | _ | | |<-> offset The two offsets were approx. 48mm or 33mm. Please let me know which are correct. Cheers, - Dan. stu999
Haxsaw, you need solid disks off a Mk3 or 4 NOT a Mk5. I may stand corrected, but I was unaware of any differences on the solid disks on 3s and 4s.
Steve Kirk
H I agree i bought a pair last week , Mk3/4 solid front discs cost me a grand total of £7.75 each.Expensive to run these sports cars isnt it! Steve
pembroke_pat
From memory, the offset is about 2" so the 48 mm sounds about right. I can check tomorrow.
Guest
Thanks all. I was only quoting the parts list which says Mk 3/4/5 so I can only assume that Westfield haven't realised that Mk 5 Escorts had two types of disks. I'll just make sure I get the Mk 3/4 ones.
