jak Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Amazingly Steve, we have been quoted by Quinn Direct £876.25 fully comp for a 17 year old provisional licence holder. My son as used Quinn Insurance for the last 2 years. I would double check that price. My son paid £1200 for the 1st year - provisional license for a 1.0 ltr Micra. 6 months later when he passed his test he had to pay another £500 for the rest of the year. with 1 yrs NCB he paid £900, just had his renewal for this year 2 yrs NCB £750. BTW, they give 10% discount for passplus, so get him to do that once he has a full license. John Quote
Mid life crisis Posted January 20, 2010 Author Posted January 20, 2010 John just to clarify I am reading you post correctly! Your son took out a 12 month policy based on a provisional license holding driver. Then having passed his test he notified the insurance company that he now held a full license and they then charged him an extra £500.00 for the remaining portion of the 12 month policy? Total for the year £1700.00. On renewal they then gave him 1 years no claim bonus which reduced his premium to £900.00. Then the next year they gave him 2 years NCB which reduced his premium to £750.00 I wonder if Quinn have any connection with Tesco as we had a similar situation with my daughters 1st years insurance. Thanks for the heads up! We will check with Quinn as to what there offering relay is! Quote
jak Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Yep, thats right. Also Quinn include breakdown cover. BTW the cover was TPFT with windscreen cover(not included in TPFT). Also, included 3 named drivers (me, SWMBO & my brother). Strangely they didin't charge extra for the named drivers, although all of them are over 25!! Quote
