Any help or advice please

A neighbour's son has had an unfortunate accident with his key snapping in the boot lock.  

As his car is quite old (Peugeot 105,  X Reg ) the same key both opens boot and guess what.... yep, starts the engine...

To add to his mishap, he doesn't have a spare key!!    

Does anyone know if its possible to have a boot lock removed to get the broken key out?  Otherewise I'm guessing he may have to change both boot lock and ignition barrell which I guess would be rather expensive and poor lad is a 6th former with little funds.

Any help, suggestions would be much appreciated.

It'll be possible to remove the lock and dismantle to remove the key once he's in the car, but he's got to get in first...

I successfully broke into my 205 by levering the top of the door a little to create an opening and get a hook in to pop the door pin up.

Easiest option is Peugeot dealer. They should be able to get new keys with a chassis no., no doubt they'll want to see the V5 first. Get him to ring the local dealer.

Yup, new keys with a chassis number, or pick the door lock. The last Pug lock I picked (we had some Pugs at work) I got it open with a key from one of my padlocks...

Sorry, should have been a bit clearer.

He has a separate key for the doors so at least he can get into the car..  Just cannot start it or open the boot.  I guess he could get another key from Peugot dealer (using V5 etc) but, will still leave issue with boot lock.

If you have a pick set (not a lock pick set, just a regular engineering pick set) you might just possibly be a ble to hoik it out by trying to get a grip on the serrations of the key. You need a long pick with a short 90 degree end on it...

Thnink it should be possible to remove boot lok once inside the car?

a locksmith will make you up a key even without the key, ive had them made before when ive lost them, then the next day found it on the sunvisor where i had left it

Jeff, may sound a silly question, but what would I need to take to the locksmith given the majority of the key is stuck in the lock?

Mobile locksmith will come out and produce a new key on site.

Superglue the key base carefully to the stuck part of the key, ive done this before and it works a treat. Gets the key out which you can then get copied.
