Tockwith has been there for 40 years but never as a formal track as far as I know, ignoring karting. They used to take learner drivers out there when I was a lad.

Sounds like the track is on the old testing ground used for the race team, next to the kart track. It has been re-surfaced (claimed 1.25miles) and is now open for trackdays. Good timing given Croft & Elvington noise issues ;)

Having lived in Tockwith for 13 years (now just down the road a bit)

The local residents have been trying to get the karts banned or at least quitened down for years (two strokes were banned for a while), the week I moved in I was asked to sign a petition against the karting twice one was by my new neighbour. Declined on both occasions and was asked why, told them I was new into the village and knew the karting track was there. Didn't tell them I had a westfield in the garage that was going to be making a bit of noise in the cul de sac as soon as the weather got better. (didn't get asked again !)

I can only see this making things worse so I would suggest if you want a go make it early.

I will have a ride down on my bike and see what it looks like this week end and report back
